Powell Accounting commenced operations on the 1st July 2004.

Prior to 2004, our principal Geoff Powell has worked both interstate and overseas as a Chartered Accountant. His career in Tasmania has focused on small business and the audit of the growing “community managed”, not for profit sector.

Precious McDowall ATI,BBus (Acc)

Commencing with Powell Accounting in 2011, Precious works primarily
in Taxation and small business assistance. Precious completed her Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Corporate Governance in 2012 with UTAS and completed CTA2 Advanced Taxation through the Taxation Institute of Australia. She is currently an Associate Member of the Tax Institute.

Carolyn Gaunt MYOB/Xero Consultant, BBus (Acc)

JoinedPowell Accounting in May 2015. Carolyn has extensive MYOB and Xero Consultancy experience including set up, installation and training. Carolyn brings with her expertise in setting up cloud based accounting software.

ASSOCIATES

Powell Accounting is associated with several audit and accounting firms throughout Australia. This allows us to test our development work against the wider spectrum of clients attached to these firms and to draw from the pooled experience and expertise these connections bring.

Powell Accounting is member of the Australian Not-For-Profit Accounting Network (ANFPAN) and Tyndale KSG.

ANFPAN

The Australian Not-For-Profit Accountants Network was formed to allow accountants and accounting firms across Australia, who specialise in not-for-profit groups, to share experience, expertise and resources when providing services to these clients. Clients include Charities, churches and educational institutions.

Tyndale KSG conducts independent audits in conformity with Australian Auditing Standards.  We continually monitor and maintain standards compliance through ongoing training and development to deliver an opinion on client financial statements prepared in conformity with Australian Accounting Standards.
